In collaboration with the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, the Cedar Bend Humane Society is dedicated to providing pet food assistance to community members in need. This initiative is only meant to supplement pet owners during times of need.
The Paws Pantry operates on the first and third Wednesday of each month, with distribution hours from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
How it works:
- Interested individuals should be a member of the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.
- On first visit, participants must present a valid ID at the Cedar Bend Humane Society Intake Center to receive a Paws Pantry punch card, which will include their name and shelter ID number. This punch card is required for each visit to collect food.
- Each participant is eligible to receive 2 gallon size zip lock bags of food per month.
- Participants are able to come once a month for food.
- An option between dog and cat food is provided, contingent upon stock availability.
- Participation in the Paws Pantry program may result in adoption restrictions.
*Disclaimer: All food is donation based and is separated into gallon sized zip lock bags. Bags will not list brand, ingredients, expiration dates, etc.
